Google, cable companies might join Sprint and WiMAX

As Sprint approaches its deadline to launch its WiMAX network, Google and multiple cable companies have indicated their interest in the project. Between the high cost of the project and Sprint’s own financial woes, support from outside sources has become necessary.

Those hoping for a nationwide WiMax network may get some good news next week: Sprint’s Xohm service might get some big-name backers and a new business plan.
