UK mobile users may face charges to receive calls

Mobile phone users could be charged to receive calls and face higher bills under proposals being considered by the industry watchdog.
Under plans for a radical shake-up to the British mobile industry, a US-style “Bill and keep” system, in which customers pay to take, as well as make, calls will be considered, Ed Richards, the Chief Executive of Ofcom said.
While the proposal is designed to increase transparency and reduce users’ bills, major mobile companies have warned that charges could rise under such a scheme.
