Ugandan telecoms ‘paying’ subscribers to receive calls

They say when the two elephants fight the grass suffers the reverse is continuing to make sense in Uganda as telecom companies unveil new products to woo subscribers to their networks.
Warid Telecom has now turned to giving additional airtime to subscribers on its network for receiving calls. Subscribers on the network now receive Shs50 worth of airtime per minute for each call they receive from other networks including; MTN, Zain Uganda, Uganda Telecom as well as incoming calls from abroad. The bonus airtime received can be used to make calls to Warid and other networks.
