Spanish regulator in talks with EU about Internet access

European Union flagThe Spanish telecommunications regulator said Tuesday that it was in talks with the European Commission over access to the former state monopoly’s new high-speed broadband network.

The commission warned the regulator, the Telecommunications Market Commission, or CMT, on Friday about its plan not to require Telefónica to offer rivals wholesale Internet access at regulated prices through the network.
