Singaporeans sniff out eircom

Investors in the telecoms holding company, eircom, once part of the Babcock & Brown stable, could soon have a fully fledged takeover offer to vote on after the ASX-listed group disclosed yesterday it was in talks on an initial low-ball bid.
The proposal - described as “incomplete and indicative” - has been lodged by a consortium led by Singapore Technologies Telemedia (STT), which is owned by the country’s giant investment group, Temasek Holdings.
