NZ watchdog savages Telecom after XT outage

Telecom has got its XT mobile network running again and apologised to up to 90,000 customers affected by an outage today.
But a telecommunications watchdog has criticised the company for the outage and attacked its efforts to tell people about what was going on.

Customers on Telecom’s XT network in much of the country were left without calling, text messaging or mobile internet after a breakdown yesterday.
The $600 million network was out of action between about 4.30am to 5pm because of a fault affecting a Christchurch component.
