Telecom scandal’s important call for Italy’s legal system

The latest scandal to break in the world of Italian telecoms provides an interesting test for the Roman judge overseeing the case.
The affair involves an alleged value added tax scam at Telecom Italia’s wholesale division Sparkle and broadband competitor Fastweb that apparently generated hundreds of millions of euros that were then allegedly funnelled to suspect businessmen and a politician who is accused of having links to the mafia.
