Australia’s Telstra to trial LTE in May

Telstra has announced that it is months away from testing 4G technology that could push the maximum capacity of its mobile broadband services up to 172Mbps within five years.
Telstra’s acting chief operating officer Michael Rocca said that the company would conduct trials to test the commercial feasibility of upgrading its Next G network to the 4G standard in May. Telstra’s incumbent wireless network vendor Ericsson, and newcomers Huawei and Nokia Siemens Networks will supply the technology for the trials.
