LG will become the latest electronics manufacturer to bring exclusive video content to the television when it launches Telstra’s BigPond Movies service on its new range of internet-connected TVs.

LG has secured an exclusive deal to offer the paid movie download service — which will be launched with films including recent releases Whip It and Michael Jackson’s This Is It — for a short period from when its new range goes on sale on April 26. Other manufacturers, including Samsung, are also expected to launch it at a later date.
